Wahnee Descendants Mission Statement
1. What is the purpose of our existence:
- As a Pow-Wow Family, The Wahnee Descendants was born to help our Comanche people at various Pow-Wow related events. The scope of our existence is to understand who our direct relatives are and preserve our past as well as the future of our family. Both the Pow-Wow Family and the Genealogy are seperate in nature, but for the sake of simplicity, we will work to include both under one umbrella on this website.
2. What are the Values of the Wahnee Descendants Family:
- Understanding and respect among all family members, races, religions, and cultures is paramount. As a Pow-Wow Family, we exist to help others when they need or ask for it. In addition, is it important that all Wahnee Descendants support and participate in the Annual Pow-Wow if they can. As a family, we should aspire "to the best of our ability" to help our relatives learn who our family is through Genealogy and the recollection of our elders.
3. What is the business of the family:
- The Wahnee Descendants Pow-Wow Family is recognized as a formal non-profit organization, so we do function with those principles in mind. Funds that are dontated or raised under the Wahnee Descendants banner, will be used for the Wahnee Descendants Annual Pow-Wow and Co-Hosting responsibilites. A small portion of those funds will be used to maintain this website on a yearly basis.
